BENEFITING: Enterprise Community Partners
ORGANIZER: Enterprise Community Partners
EVENT DATE: Aug 23, 2013
This August, I’m lacing up my running shoes to support Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC), an organization that gets my heart pumping even more than my love for running. Once again, I’m joining Enterprise Community Partners and its Running for Shelter team in the Hood to Coast relay. Our 12-person team will run nearly 200 miles, starting at Mt. Hood and ending in Seaside. But we’re not just running for fun, we’re running to support TNDC, a successful non-profit housing developer in San Francisco. I’m proud to serve on the board of TNDC, which houses some of San Francisco’s poorest residents in its 3,000 units of award-winning housing. And TNDC is about more than just housing. It runs an after school program that provides a safe place for neighborhood children to thrive and study. It creates community gardens so that residents have access to fresh, healthy food. And it provides a range of supportive services and organizing activities for those who need so much. You can see why I’m so passionate about TNDC by checking out a few of the buildings and activities in the adjacent photos and by clicking here - www.tndc.org.
This year, I have two big challenges – I’m running 20 very hilly miles during the relay. And, I’m committed to raising $5,000 for TNDC, $250 for each of those hilly miles. I’ll take care of the running, but would love your support for TNDC. Please help me meet this goal!
Enterprise formed the Running for Shelter team 16 years ago and has raised nearly $600,000 for nonprofit developers across the country.
