The Running for Shelter relay team is a group of 12 recreational runners participating in the annual Hood to Coast relay race in Oregon August 28-29, 2015.
Running for Shelter will collectively run the 197 mile Hood to Coast course in support of Bienestar, a nonprofit working with the poorest neighborhoods in the greater Portland area to unleash the potential of people to improve the quality of life for themselves, their children, their families, and the community.
The team was formed 18 years ago and has raised over $600,000 for nonprofit developers across the country.
There's a reason they call Hood to Coast the "Mother of All Relays." The world's largest relay race will have our runners starting on the evening of Friday, August 28 and crossing the finish line approximately 25 hours later. The race starts at Oregon’s famed Mt. Hood and will end in the town of Seaside.
