Running for the Foster family
Organized by: kimberly peyrouse
EVENT DATE May 18, 2014
Meet the Foster Family. Michelle Foster and I have been friends since junior high school. She and I have stayed in contact and through social media, we have been able to keep in touch, through many miles that seperate our families. She and I were recently reconnected, because of very similar health issues. Michelle and I both have brain tumors, which has (unfortunately) grown our families even closer, throughout this past year. Michelle was working part time, as her husband is in law-enforcement, while raising two sweet kiddos. When Michelle started feeling very sick, doctors took notice to her tumor as well as serveral (unknown) medical issues, that are still being investigated. Michelle had to quit her job, and as you can imagine, having two sweet babes, and one income, is very difficult. Throw in multiple MRI's, almost weekly specialist appointments and hospital stays, it has placed financail stress upon their family.
When Michelle and Mike called James and I, we immediately connected and wanted to help them, especially, since we have had a huge community around us, throughout this past year of our lives.
I decided, that since Michelle and I both have a brain tumor, May is 'brain tumor awareness month' I wanted to run a half marathon and have every penny given to our friends, to help with medical bills.
My friend, Crystal Cook and I are running The Colfax Half Marathon together on Sunday, May 18th, on behalf of the Foster family! We named ourselves "foxy-cook for Foster" We would LOVE for you to help this amazing family in need! Even if you donated $5 that would help them out in more ways than you would ever know.
We are also asking for your "cheering" support! So, If you are a Colorado resident, we would LOVE for you to come down on Sunday, and cheer Crystal and I on as we run for Michelle! Thank you in advance for your prayers for the Foster family as they continue on this scary medical journey and for any financial support you may offer them. On behalf of the Fosters, thank you!
