This May, in the St. Michaels Running Festival. Seeing as I have not even run more than a 5K in over a year, this will be most certainily be quite the feat for me to undertake, but I am tenaciously up for the challenge.
As a part of the race, I'm raising money for one of the St. Michaels Running Festival's Partners that I care about most - The Talbot County Humane Society:
This humae society provides a safe and healthy environment for unwanted companion animals in its care; places adoptable companion animals in good homes; protects all animals from cruelty and neglect; and reduces the unwanted companion animal population through spay/neuter and educational services in Talbot County, Maryland.
Talbot Humane is an open admission shelter to all Talbot County residents - caring for ~1,300 animals each year. This means we turn no animal away, no matter how full our cages, the medical condition or temperament of the animal in need. For over 80 years our goals have been:
- To rescue animals from neglect;
- To place companion animals into loving homes;
- To reunite lost pets with their owners; and
- To reduce pet overpopulation through aggressive spay and neuter programs.
