BENEFITING: United Way of Mass Bay
ORGANIZER: United Way of Mass Bay
EVENT: 2013 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2013
On April 15, 2013, I ran 25.8 miles during the 117th running of the Boston Marathon before I was turned around due to two explosions which happened just a couple minutes before I was to finish the race. The charity organization which I ran for is the United Way, which is a charity organization with a large ability to help people in need.
I am asking my friends and family who are able to give a little bit to the United Way for their generosity. ALL donations go directly to the United Way.
Also, I would like to thank ALL of you who voiced concern over Yuliya and I's wellbeing yesterday. We were both safe but were unable to get in contact with each other for at least an hour after the explosions. It was a very nervewracking hour, but we were finally reunited and were able to make it home safely.
Although I was not able to finish the race, once the scene at Copley Square becomes a little less hectic, I am going to run back down and finish the final half mile in support of this charity.
Thank you all.

SMALL ACTS. BIG IMPACT.
United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley is proud to have some dedicated runners fundraising on our behalf. Thanks to their support, we will be able to reach one in four children and one in two youth in Massachusetts' neediest communities.
