BENEFITING: American Heart Association
EVENT DATE: Sep 22, 2012
My son was born in 2005 with a heart defect that required surgery days after he was born. Due to the excellent care he received from the miracle workers at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), he is a healthy young boy living a completely normal life. Or at least as normal a life as a 7-year old boy can lead...
Please consider donating toward my goal (the minimum donation on this site is $10; however, i will gladly pick up smaller cash donations if you live nearby...or you can send me smaller donations via paypal [email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info]). All funds raised will be donated to the American Heart Association (AHA) to help raise awareness about healthy living and the risks of heart disease and stroke.
In return for your hard-earned money...on 9/22/12 my friend Matt Cappelli and I (and hopefully some other close friends) will run approximately 5 miles from my house in Havertown, PA to Gaetano's pizzeria in Clifton Heights, PA. At the end of the run we will eat a lot of pizza. I personally will attempt to eat an entire pizza pie myself (and if you've ever had Gaetano's pizza...you'll know it's kinda hard NOT to eat the whole thing). Seems contradictory right? I figure having a whole pizza to myself once a year can't hurt too much, especially after running 5 miles to get it! I do not, however, recommend this stunt be undertaken on a regular basis :)
If you'd like to join the run, please let me know. we'd love some company (the eating-a-lot-of-pizza thing certainly isn't mandatory).
