March Run to Be Homeful
March 06, 2016
Being homeless can happen to anyone, I know because I lived it for a season in my life. Circumstances brought my family on hard times when I was in my early teens, and though we had a roof over our heads the house was in pretty bad shape until finally it wasn't safe to live there any longer. During my senior year in high school until my late 20s, I found myself without a place to call home. I rented rooms & stayed with friends, but I couldn't put down "roots" for almost a decade. Living like that was not my choice but instead a way I became accustomed to out of need.
I no longer have to live like that, but I never take my home for granted. I am broken-hearted to see people, families, & pets living out on the streets or in shelters. I am compelled to do something about homelessness ....and so from January to May, I hope to raise $2000 & beyond for the Connecticut's Coalition to End Homelessness campaign of Be Homeful http://www.behomeful.org/
This is your chance to help too. Donate here to my running events, as I run one road race per month to raise funds for the CCEH Be Homeful Project.
Thank you !
