BENEFITING: The Sierra Club Foundation
EVENT DATE: Nov 25, 2012
I am currently a dedicated volunteer leader for the Seattle chapter of Sierra Club Inner City Outings (ICO), a community outreach program providing opportunities for urban youth and adults to explore, enjoy and protect the natural world.
ICO volunteers work through partnerships with selected elementary, middle, and high schools and agencies serving youth in the Seattle area. Our youth range in age from 8 to 20, and represent diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. ICO provides all of the food, gear, transportation and leaders trained in first-aid, CPR, environmental education and youth leadership.
As a completely volunteer run organization, ICO could really use some support! Please support me in my quest to run the Seattle Half Marathon on November 25, 2012, to raise money for food, gear and more for future ICO trips! Or, if you can't donate, consider volunteering with me to take underserved kids out on outdoor adventures!
