BENEFITING: THE BRIDGE INC
EVENT DATE: Aug 07, 2015
Friends & Family,
I have decided to join a few friends to run another 200 mile Ragnar relay-race, this time in Colorado!
My first trial into these crazy relay races was running from Toronto to Niagra Falls, but this year I have decided to take on what people call one of the toughest Ragnar races, running from Copper Mountain to Aspen, Colorado. I have been told both the altitude and the mountains will be a painful combination.
So while I am struggling up a 9-mile incline with no end in sight, I want to be able to know I’m doing it for a greater purpose. So this year I will be running to raise money for The Bridge of New York.
“The Bridge is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that assists vulnerable New Yorkers including the homeless, people suffering with serious mental illness, and substance abuse disorders. The Bridge helps them achieve a better life in the community through a comprehensive range of services: safe and affordable housing, vocational training and job placement, mental health and substance abuse treatment, homeless outreach, art and poetry therapy programs and health care. The Bridge is unique in offering all of these services under one umbrella organization.”
I have seen the transformative power of this organization first hand. It is a great organization with people who truly care about making a difference. Please help me to support The Bridge and ensure their clients continue to get the help that they need.
