I'm running my 13th marathon and raising money to save wild felines! The marathon will take place on June 5 in Derry, Northern Ireland!
For more than 30 years, EFBC's Feline Conservation Center has been on a mission to help save the world's endangered wild cats. Through captive breeding programs, EFBC-FCC - the "Cathouse" - works with zoos, facilities and researchers from around the world in keeping clean genetic lines of captive cats.
For 25 years, I've been a volunteer zookeeper at the Cathouse. I've raked up poop, assisted in medical procedures, walked cubs and even went halfway around the world to bring back rare Fishing cats.
This facility is unique in that it only houses cat species. It's unique in that it receives no corporate funding and - thanks to small staff, volunteers and overhead - approximately .95 cents for every dollar donated goes right back into the facility in the care for the cats. From water to food bills, it's not cheap. Every cent counts.
So please take a moment to support one of the most special places on earth. Your donation goes directly to EFBC-FCC.
Everyone is invited to come up and see the cats. But for those who donate more than $150, you are invited to come up for a special behind the scenes tour. (Children under 18 cannot take the behind the scenes tour.) Learn more about the cathouse at www.cathouse-fcc.org.
