BENEFITING: TEACHING & LEARNING COLLABORATIVE
EVENT DATE: Jan 01, 2017
They say: “It's a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together”. I’m a Bilingual Pre-k teacher and for me, teaching is more than a job, more than a career. It’s even more than a vocation or a calling. Teaching is a privilege, and it involves a strong sense of commitment to others and to the future of our society.
As a fitness enthusiast, I feel inspired for the opportunity of serving a purpose larger than myself; by running for a cause and supporting Teaching and Learning Collaborative, I’m also pursuing my goal of helping students to reach their full potential and encourage them to become life-long learners. It’s my conviction that one of our responsibilities as teachers is to constantly renew ourselves in the professional field to deliver the highest quality in education through instructional practices that are meaningful, innovative and engaging.
Christa McAuliffe once coined the phrase, "I touch the future, I teach”. We can make a significant difference in the way we prepare our children for the challenges they will face tomorrow by providing educators with the tools and skills they need to teach STEM in a inspiring way, so we can instill curiosity and passion for learning among our students.
The Teaching & Learning Collaborative (TLC) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to design innovative, high-quality professional development in mathematics, science, and technology for educators in grades pK-12.
