Fundraiser coming to a close
December 17, 2018
BENEFITING: The Church At Severn Run
Mileage Tracker: 204
In 2017, I embarked on a journey to run 32 races covering 262.3 miles to raise $5,000 for The Church at Severn Run's "On the Road" campaign. As we strive to be a church that loves well, lives Jesus and believes big, we desire to reach 5,000 people in our community in the Baltimore Washington metropolitan area. Each dollar of my $5,000 goal represents 1 person who may or may not yet know that Jesus Christ loves them and believes they are very special. And so do we here at The Church at Severn Run!
I completed the 32 races. I covered the 262.3 miles. Unfortunately, I fell short in my fundraising, which brings me to 2018 - the Insanity Continues. Because until hell takes no more souls and heaven is filled to capacity, there is work to be done here on earth!
This year will be a little different than 2017. 18 races instead of 32 covering 148 miles plus whatever distance I cover in 2 undetermined distances instead of 262. But where last year my longest disance was a 26.2K (16.24 miles), I'm running my first full marathon and a 50K (31 miles). Also different in 2018 from last year, I will only be running the Annapolis Striders race schedule and with the Striders in RRCA Club Challenge... and a 5K being sponsored by a friend church Heritage Community Church to one day end human trafficking.
This year's race schedule is as follows:
1/27/2018 26.2 Eternal Winter Six Hour Run
2/10/2018 3.1 Valentine's 5K

Just as Jesus took a few fish and a couple loaves of bread and miraculously fed 5,000 people with much more left over than what He started with, I pray that my small endeavor can spill into a huge miracle where more and more people can experience the love of Christ and come to believe in Him as Lord and Savior.
We're already well on our way as I am continuing last year's giving into the current total raised. While asking you to make a donation, I also invite you to see what we as a church are all about. You can visit the church's website, you can attend one of our church services on a Sunday 9:30am, 11:00am or 12:30pm, or you can visit the church's Facebook page to watch Live. I also invite you to visit my Facebook page and LIKE the page.
The mantra I’d adopted in 2017 and continues on is “run as far as you can, then take another step”. It’s only by faith in His strength that I can do anything. Proverbs 4:12 promises “When you walk, your steps will not be impeded; and if you run, you will not stumble.”
"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize" - 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
