BENEFITING: Boomer Esiason Foundation
In 1991, my mother Deborah ran her first (and only) marathon in support of Cystic Fibrosis. My dad, two years ago, decided that if his wife could do it, then so could he. He elected to run his first marathon as a sponsored runner for the Boomer Esiason Foundation in support of Cystic Fibrosis as well. No, I am not going to tell you that I am about to run a marathon. However, last year I ran my first 10K with my dad, and that happened to be Team Boomer’s Cystic Fibrosis Run To Breath 10K. Since then, I have decided to run as many charity races as possible over the course of the next few months. Currently, I am signed up to participate in 12 runs in the next few months, and plan to keep signing up for more. So every weekend, when most people are still drinking coffee in their pajamas on Saturday and Sunday mornings, I will be sucking wind at the last leg of a race. As compensation for this sacrifice of morning sleep, I’d like to think that all of my running is somehow translating into benefiting a greater good. So I am asking you all to sponsor me in running to support the Boomer Esiason Foundation. Regardless of what you are able to give, I would appreciate any donation that would help me to raise money to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis and to help those who currently live with it. We all breath to run, but now it’s time to run to breath.
