On January 17th I will be running my first half marathon and am using the opportunity to raise funds for refugee children fleeing Syria.
My Great Grandparents left the region in the early 1900s to escape a genocide campaign targeting Assyrians, Armenians and others. I cannot imagine the uncertainty and strain they felt as they embarked on the journey to the United States. But I understand the love they felt for their children and the determination they had to provide an opportunity for a better life.
I encourage you to donate to these precious children, who like our own, crave stability and love.
