This year I will run the 2017 Philadelphia Marathon for UNICEF!
I crossed my first finish line in 2011 when I made my running debut at a 5K (3.2 miles). Numerous 5Ks, 10Ks, eight half-marathons (including one indoors!), and three marathons later, I am thrilled to run marathon number four (26.2 miles) for UNICEF.
Advocating for human rights is not only a passion of mine but a way of life. It even influenced my career choice to pursue law school and now my Master of Laws in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.
My passion for social justice brought me to work with Habitat for Humanity, National Lawyers Guild, Volunteers for Peace, Pisco Sin Fronteras, & the International Refugee Assistance Project in Uganda, India, Vietnam, Peru, Colombia, & Lebanon. Along the way I collected many life lessons about humanity. Some of my best teachers were the children.
UNICEF fights for the survival and development of all children, in all situations, all of the time. This relentless conviction has propelled UNICEF to help save more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization. We believe in a world where there are ZERO starving children; ZERO exploited children; ZERO children denied an education, and ZERO children deprived of clean water. By joining Team UNICEF, you will help us get closer to a day when every child has a safe and healthy childhood.
