Running With A Reason (RWAR)
Organized by: Sylvia Smith
Running With A Reason (RWAR) is one of my high school classmate's personal fund-raiser. Since our 30th class reunion is June, I decided to try to help her out with this cause.
We've all been acquainted with people affected by cancer. My classmate Kim's mission is to raise money to give to individuals, rather than giant non-profit entities. There are a lot of incidental expenses, not covered by insurance, that are incurred as a result of fighting cancer. Kim's mission is to help ease this burden for the patient and his/her family.
Kim is a runner and uses specific events to help her raise money for Running With A Reason. I'm going to do the same for this running season. Entry fees and travel expenses associated with race participation do not come out of RWAR donations. Kim gives 100% of donations to the chosen recipient. I'll send 100% of donations raised here to her. She also sends a Running With A Reason t-shirt to anyone who donates $50 or more.
Because Kim and I graduated from Newton High School's class of 1984, I've set my personal goal to raise $1984 for Running With A Reason by the end of the year. Thank you for your support.
