After reading Born To Run, by Christopher McDougal, my love of running was rekindled and it becey dream to someday run with the Tarahumara in the Copper Canyon in Mexico. As a high school teacher I am accustomed to skipping some activities because of cost, but this event gives me an opportunity to fulfil a dream while benefiting the local people. The race entry is $300 and that enters me and three locals in the race. Each local in the race also receives trade vouchers for food for his family. While the cost of the race is enough to hindery entry, the cost of getting there is the largest obstacle. So, I am relying on the kindness and generosity of strangers to help me fulfil my dream, while helping these local people. Thank you!
