Because no one should ever have to face Cancer alone, there is the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center (CMRC) at Howard County General Hospital.
This Center is important to me because I had a cousin who fought a brave fight against pancreatic cancer last year. Though he lost his fight, I can’t help but be thankful for the cancer center that helped him and his family through his very scary battle. I want to help make sure the Claudia Mayer Center Resource Center can provide the same high level of support as my cousin received.
To help this amazing Center, I have challenged myself to participate in the Columbia IronGirl Triathlon on August 21st and to raise $500 on their behalf.
I am writing today to ask for your support of my efforts to raise money for the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center (CMCRC). Every dollar counts and no amount is too small!
If everyone I have emailed today would donate $10 I will reach my goal. Of course, the Center would LOVE it if you could donate even more! I encourage you to give to your heart’s content!
Many patients who come to the Center face challenging, complex issues of having to navigate through treatments, a myriad of technical medical options and decisions, and have to deal with aesthetic difficulties, such as losing their hair, eyelashes & eyebrows, as well as mental and emotional stress, all while still needing to function day-to-day at work, at home, at school, and trying to care or provide for their children and families.
The CMCRC services, support groups and programs address these areas of cancer concerns and more with an extremely dedicated and trained staff.
Please help me to help them keep all of their services available and, when necessary, free for those who cannot afford them.
I recently joined their TEAM CONQUER, a group of inspiring men & women who serve as ambassadors for living healthy and active lives, while fulfilling philanthropic awareness & fundraising goals for the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center.
I am fully committed to completing IronGirl, and to help raise money to support the incredible services, resources and counseling that CMCRC offers. The Howard Hospital Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Hospital & CMCRC, and they are a 501 c (3), so 100% of anything you donate goes right to support the programs and stays local to help our community.
