Recently, the West End Volunteer Rescue Squad got a new name, and a new brand to reflect the fact that we respond to calls throughout the City of Richmond. On December 6th 2013, we became the Richmond Volunteer Rescue Squad!
The ambulances of the Richmond Volunteer Rescue Squad has been answering Richmonders' calls for help for almost 54 years; our volunteers have improved and affected the lives of countless patients over those five decades.
But what we provide the community is so much more. We provide aspiring first responders with the initial training they need to gain their certifications, as well as the on-the-job experience they need to launch their careers. We count dozens of public safety professionals, nurses, physicians, and entrepreneurs among our alumni, and take pride in the clinical and leadership skills that we help develop.
We also educate the community. We believe that everyone in the community is a "first" first responder - that by teaching our neighbors life-saving skills like CPR and first aid, we can improve outcomes for our patients.
Because we are a volunteer, non-profit charity, we rely on your support to keep our doors open, and ambulances running. Support the Richmond Volunteer Rescue Squad today!
