BENEFITING: MINISTRY RESOURCES INTERNATIONAL
RWANDA VIRUNGA VALLEY ACADEMY (http://virungavalleyacademy.org/) I have been asked to volunteer a year of my life teaching the children in Rwanda at the Virunga Valley Academy, which is a team of missionary educators serving Rwandan and ex-pat students and the children of missionaries in the Rwandan community. In order to complete this year of missionary work, I need to raise 100% of the funds to fly to Rwanda and live by my own means, since the school provides no monetary compensation for my volunteer work. The teachers pay for their own flight, cost of renting a house, and cost of living for an entire school year (August thru May). It is estimated that the cost of living in Rwanda and flight will be a total of $12,000. 100% of the money I raise will be used to fund this trip and help educate the children in Rwanda. What unique things would separate you from other applicants applying for this money? I have spent my entire education career teaching children all over the United States, and have come to realize I have a greater calling. I have been looking for an opportunity to volunteer my teaching expertise in an international setting with children who need an education in order to increase their chances at a successful life. I realize that I am able to provide a better quality of life for the children in Rwanda if I'm able to educate them and help them learn skills that they can pay forward with successful career opportunities! I am hoping to make my mission a reality so I can help the children in Rwanda!
