Boston Strong is a theme the running community knows very well.
Team Red, White, and Blue in Boston is continually looking for ways to unite Veterans and our community. The fundraising from this group is one way we can support the growth of RWB Chapters. Please support us as we log the miles and spread the word about how we help Veterans.
A 2009 Rand report estimates that 26% of returning combat veterans may have mental health conditions (PTSD, anxiety, depression) and the VA estimates there are nearly 400,000 untreated cases of post-traumatic stress disorder. 2.5 million American men and women have deployed in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom since September 2001.
How can we help them?
Team RWB’s mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. Founded in 2010, Team RWB and its 56,000 members are bringing veterans, their families, and American citizens together through authentic social interaction, community physical fitness and shared experiences in over 115 communities across the globe. Every Team RWB Chapter hosts a variety of consistent, positive activities that foster authentic relationships at the local level. Veterans connect with each other, and members of their community, through events like: weekly running groups, hiking, yoga classes, functional fitness, or even volunteering.
Make an Investment in Veterans
We know that community and exercise are powerful and proactive ways to address the root causes of many veteran challenges. By preventing isolation, depression, and anxiety, we greatly reduce the likelihood that a veteran will have to deal with dependence, joblessness, or homelessness.
Thank you for everything you can do to help those that have volunteered to serve our country. Contact us if you would like information on how you can join Team Red White, & Blue.
