LUKE 18:18-22 An important man asked Jesus "Good Teacher, what must I do to have eternal life?" Jesus said "Why do you call me good? Only God is good. You know the commandments: 'Be faithful in marriage. Do not murder.Do not steal. Do not tell lies about others, Respect your father and mother.' " He told Jesus, "I have obeyed all these commandments since I was a young man." When Jesus heard this he said, "There is one thing you still need to do. Go and sell everything you own! Give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven. Then come and be my follower."
As a single teen parent who grew up without a father, I feel like giving to and helping young women and children is my duty. I grew up in a very religious family and I always had a big heart. I know EXACTLY what it is like struggling to feed your children, and trying to provide a safe living environment for them. I also know the heartbreaking pain of growing up without a father to kiss you goodnight and tell you you're beautiful. And as a result of the positivity that I gained from my experiences in life, I have found a way to help people in the same situations feel the same joy I feel. My future goal is to open up several transitional houses for less fortunate teen mothers and their children as well as start an organization for the empowerment of fatherless girls. This is just the start and your donation will warm not only the backs, hands and feet of these young people, but the hearts of so many. To jump start this movement, we are hoping to raise $5000, as well as gently used clothes, and new toys and toiletries to give this Christmas. And by this time next year we hope to have doubled that 10 times! If everyone gives just $1, together we can raise awareness and give someone a little more hope for tomorrow. Our instagram page is HugDetroit and our ewbsite will also be coming soon.
This fundraiser was created by My non-profit organization HUG DETROIT and all monies raised will be donated to those sin need.
