San Antonio Youth Code Jam fosters an interest in technology by introducing upper elementary through high school students to programming languages. We help kids get excited about computer science, build confidence in their skills and imagine themselves in the emerging technology-driven jobs of tomorrow.
We host San Antonio's largest youth coding event, a free opportunity for hundreds of parents and students to engage side by side in digital learning and creation. Our programs include this community-wide free event, a free code jam for teens with high functioning autism and asperger's, summer camps and outreach initiatives.
Currently, we are looking for support to be able to offer camperships to low income students to attend our summer programming camps. 30% of the students registering for camp have requested scholarships. All are from under-represented minorities in the tech industry and most make under $30,000 a year in the household. Though they can't afford to come to camp - even an affordable one - they should still be able to have access to opportunities to dive in deep into coding. Can you help this next generation of leaders?
We are a partner of the City of San Antonio's SA2020 Initiative and Certified Awesome.
