BENEFITING: LET S SADDLE UP INC
EVENT DATE: May 22, 2016
On May 22nd, I'll be swimming, biking and running 72.3 miles... for FUN. Ok, maybe not all fun, but its also not the only reason that I'm competing. I'm using the first annual Mountains to Mainstreet endurance event in Greenville, SC to help raise funds for 'Let's Saddle Up', a local non-profit in Laurens, SC that caters to Special Needs Children, Seniors and Veterans. I've seen first hand the benefits of therapeutic horsemanship- it is REAL and it makes a HUGE difference in the lives of those who participate. The director of Let's Saddle Up, Sharron Dillard, is an amazing woman who has dedicated herself to running the program and impacting as many individuals as she possibly can. However, operating as a Non-profit comes with its challenges. Your donations, regardless of the amount, can make a significant difference- from helping fund a rider to helping take care of the numerous horses that are used keep the program going.
So, you're undecided on whether or not to donate- there is NO obligation (obviously). However, if you're leaning towards donating to this amazing organization, and not sure how much to donate, consider a quarter a mile. 72.3 miles at 25 cents/mile would send $18 to Let's Saddle Up. Regardless of your decision on whether or not to donate, I thank you for reading this note. I'm not a big fan of asking (ok harassing) people for donations, but I believe in this organization and the difference that they can make.
Thanks for your consideration.
