Hunger In the United States: Right now, 49 million Americans are going hungry—they don't know when they will get their next meal. The reality is there IS enough food in the world today for everyone to get the nourishment they need for a healthy and productive life.
In Washington D.C., one in eight District households is struggling against hunger, and while the nation's federal nutrition programs have a wide reach in Washington, D.C., too many adults and children continue to slip through the nutrition safety net.
Let's Make A Difference: This fall, I'm joining thousands of like-minded women in New York and across the country to run the Women’s Health annual fund raiser: RUN 10 FEED 10. This will be my first time running a race to raise money for charity, and I can't think of a better reason to do it! Just for registering and running the race, I'll instantly provide 10 meals for those going hungry in the MD, VA, D.C. area. All additional donations will go to ICare Inc., serving the D.C. homeless community.
