THE STORY:

My dear friend Fumiyo was diagnosed with stage four Breast Cancer three weeks ago. The Breast Cancer has now spread to other parts of her body.  Due to financial difficulties and insurance co pay issues she did not get an early diagnosis, and only after she started to experience pain was forced to see a Doctor.

As a single mom, she always wants to give double of her love to the children. She has given them the best of what she could and worked two jobs to maintain a good living standard for them. She has never complained about her life, and has always worked with a positive attitude. Even though she is very busy she likes to help others, and she has been a large part of the Japanese Cultural Center in Concord, Diablo Nippongo Gakuen ディアブロ日本語学園for over 17 years. During this time she has donated her time to school activates, arranging holiday parties, and playing piano at each event.

After all of the hard work over many years she was looking forward to reaching her life goal of seeing her son graduate from high school and attend college, and seeing her daughter with a successful job.  Fumiyo was hoping in a year’s time to finally settle down “smell the roses” and get married to her fiancé. But now after all the trials and tribulations were to be done, she has encountered something even more difficult.

Fumiyo’s medical insurance to date has been limited, and her medical bills are already mounding up. She has always been self-sufficient and has never asked for help from anyone throughout her life, no matter how difficult or big the challenges have been. She is still keeping her full time job while having Cancer treatment, but she has had to stop working her second job.

While she may have the mental strength to go through all the treatments needed to save her life, she cannot have the stress and worries about the medical bills on top of it all. She needs to focus all of her energy on the fight ahead. We are asking for any financially support you may be able to gift to her in the hopes to lessen her burdens. We all wish for her to have a long life 長い人生. Fumiyo has no family support here and this challenge is more than one person can face alone, so even though she is very hesitant about asking for financial help from her friends, we have advised her to seek it.

This fund raising account is set up on behalf of my friend, Fumiyo Takano; all donations deposit into her bank account directly.

I might not know you Fumiyo, but reading the store of you life make me feel like I known you for a long time cuz we have a similar life. I'm admire your strength that going though the treatment and still working full time aren't many people can do that. That's amazing and I'm proud of you. I had read an article that said body heat can kill the cancer itself and had couple people had done it, they are now cancer free. They started running, workout and with the positive thinking had help them go though the tough time. I hope that might can help you. In the story that show you are a strong will person that nothing can't stop you. I'm sure you can fight though this. I wish you the best and will pray for my Budhha for your fast healing. I want thank you my best friend who share your story as well she is an amazing friend that everyone would ask for. Thank you Sylvia for sharing. Best wish Mandy Fan 11 months ago
