BENEFITING: MATERNITY CARE COALITION
In 2004, the Daily News in Philadelphia did an article titled “Bed of Tragedies” that revealed the city’s inadequate response to co-sleeping deaths. That year, 48 babies had died as a result of co-sleeping situations. Maternity Care Coalition launched its Safe Sleep Initiative in response to these tragic and preventable deaths. Since 2004, we have distributed more than 20,000 cribs and provided safe sleep education to families. Sadly, we’ve only begun to scratch the surface. On average, the waiting list for our Safe Sleep Education Workshops is four weeks with about 100 families waiting to receive services. Your donation, you can help reduce these tragic deaths.
$100 provides a crib, a blanket sleeper, a crib sheet and safe sleep education to a family in need.
