Safety School: A College and University Watchdog Website
Organized by: Charles Anderson
My goal is to launch a college and university watchdog website that will gather data on safety-related issues and educate the public by publishing an overall "grade" for each school. Specific issues will include rates of assault, suicide, discrimination, among others, and will also examine funding and resources for mental health, physical health, and accessibility resources, among others. Grades will also be published in categories related to the issues noted above.
This website will provide prospective students, parents, and concerned parties with crucial information to assist them in making an informed decision in choosing a college. It will hold colleges and universities accountable by bearing witness to the level and quality of resources, and level of commitment made by administration to ensure the safety, health, and well being of the student community.
I am seeking funding to support costs of incorporation and filing for 501c3 tax exempt status as a charitable organization, and for the purchase of a domain name for the website. Once this has been accomplished, all support for the website will be tax deductible. Thank you for your assistance in launching this important informational tool.
