THE STORY:

Kevin Brogan wrote -

Hello Everyone,

My name is Kevin Brogan, and I am a freshman at Boston College, majoring in economics. I was recently given an unbelievable opportunity through the Saha Global Leadership Program.

I am raising $2,950 for the project expenses of a trip to Ghana from December 28th to January 18th. 100 percent of the proceeds go towards the trip's food, lodging and equipment designed to create and sustain a solar-powered business. Our mission will provide electricity to rural communities, allowing and empowering residents to harness the benefits of solar power and find both an economic and living improvement for many years to come. The maintenance and revenue of these extraordinarily beneficial businesses will be managed and sustained by local, female entrepreneurs, who will in turn sell critical services for a cheap price and earn profit.

This is an incredible opportunity to build and exemplify my leadership skills, show my love of service and impact the lives of a large, community-driven population. Support from friends and family means the world, helping me cross a substancial financial bridge and contributing to a critical change in Ghana.
