EMPOWER WOMEN AND PROVIDE ELECTRICITY
This June I plan to travel to Northern Ghana for three weeks as a Field Representative for the Saha Global Leadership Program. Saha Global is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that partners with rural communities in developing countries to create sustainable businesses that provide clean water and solar electricity. These businesses are then owned and operated by women in the communities. 100% of these businesses are still in operation today.
I will be working with other Field Representatives and members of the community to set up a solar business in a village currently lacking electricity. The money to establish this business is all generated through generous fundraising from people like you.
9.4 million people in Ghana are currently living without electricity. Some travel up to two hours into town to just charge their electronics. I will train community-appointed women to build and run a solar-powered charging center to meet this need. However, I am responsible for raising a portion of the funds that will go directly to my team of Field Representatives.
The funds I raise will pay for the cost of the solar business equipment: 100-Watt solar panels connecting to a Burro Genset, which houses a charge controller, 1,200 Watt battery and 600 Watt inverter. I will also be providing lanterns to each household, which uses the rechargeable batteries from the new business.
Saha Global empowers women in rural communities to solve their village’s need for clean water and electricity by providing business opportunities. These businesses directly help the community benefit from the basic services they so desperately need. This does make a real difference and leaves a lasting effect on the community. Help me to make a lasting effect and improve the lives of others. None of this is possible without you!
Thank you for your time or donation, all of it is greatly appreciated. Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions or concerns. And spread the word!!
