BENEFITING: SAHELI INC

What began as a small, volunteer-run group in 1996 has grown into a well-respected local and regional organization. Saheli is the only South Asian domestic violence response and prevention agency in Massachusetts. Run mostly by volunteers and a very small staff, the organization has helped thousands of women rebuild their lives and break the cycle of abuse for themselves, their children, and future generations. Dedicated advocates who have cultural knowledge and can speak multiple South Asian languages provide caring and compassionate help to many women in crisis.
The Purple Purse Challenge allows us to sustain and expand upon our Economic Empowerment Program – which has given hundreds of women the tools and resources to live safe, self-sufficient and empowered lives. Our goal of raising $10,000 will support:
1. Sujana Chalasani Fund for women in crisis
2. Nirbhaya Fund, which enables women to get education, skills training, ESOL, and mentorship to lead successful lives
Each dollar counts! Donate now and help us win prizes throughout the Purple Purse Challenge to strengthen our impact in ending financial abuse and domestic violence!
P.S. We are so grateful to our local business sponsors! Koh-I-Noor Collections and Shubrah Designs both have offered to donate a percentage of proceeds to Saheli's Purple Purse Challenge during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Whether you're looking for fine Indian ethnic wear and jewelry, or have a more East-meets-West fusion fashion sense, you can find something stylish to wear during the holidays! Check them out at:
