THE STORY:

We are a group of 14 Saint Michael’s College students who will be taking a service-learning trip to Guyana in May 2016. We will be working in local orphanages and homes for the elderly and infirmed, including St. John Bosco Boys Orphanage, Mahaica Public Orphanage, Sophia Public Orphanage, Convalescent Home for Babies, Ruimveldt Orphanage, Palms Institution for the Elderly, Mahaica Leprosy Residence, and Moraikobai (an Arawak village in the Interior). The services and support that these institutions provide for their community are integral to ensure that people have access to resources that they need. We are excited to meet and support members within the Guyanese community as they work tirelessly to support and care for one another. We hope that you are also able to aid in this work. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
