Hello everyone! My name is Faith and I am a student of Walla Walla University. For the next 10 months I will be serving as a missionary on the island of Saipan. The opportunity to take this time to come and volunteer at the SDA school is exciting to me, and now I would like to share this opportunity with you. I am sure you will find that helping this school is very worthwhile.
Now about our fundraiser! Our school is in need of a fence surrounding our campus. The SDA Elementary School is right next to a fairly busy road, and because there is no fence around the school this road poses potential hazards for the children. Without a fence, the property has a relative lack of privacy. People can come and go freely. There is little way to monitor the traffic on and off the property. This is not the only safety hazard our children face. Behind the school there is a large field and a thick grove of trees where wild dogs are occasionally seen. These wild dogs are free to roam the property, and without a fence to keep them out, our children are not able to play freely.
A fence around the school would not only provide privacy and protection for our students, it would also greatly discourage theft and vandalism. From ipads and fire estinguishers, to the produce in our school garden, anything not nailed down seems to be fair game. Please, help our school prevent these losses.
According to our local fencing company, the estimated cost of fencing our property is twenty thousand dollars. Unfortunately, our school does not have the means to cover even a quarter of this amount. This is why I am asking you for help! Every child deserves a safe place to learn and grow.
