Over the course of ten (10) days, myself (representing Saudi Arabia) along with other international female footballers climbed nearly 6,000 meters (19,330 feet) of Africa's highest mountain - Mt. Kiliminjaro. After reaching the summit, at 18,799 feet we played a 90-minute, 11-a-side match on a volcanic ash pitch at an altitude not attempted before. BREAKING a World Guinness record! This match has been organised to raise awareness for some of the issues women and girls face when playing sport, from the grassroots, where some girls aren't allowed to play at all (like my country and Afghanistan), to amateur games, where there is considerably less funding and fewer opportunities, to professionals, where the pay is not equal and the media representation is woefully inadequate. After our climb, we began opening clinics worldwide starting with Tanzania, and this money is to support the clinics. We are opening one in Riyadh and I'm going to be helping with that initiative.
