Our Pathway of Hope program helps families get out of poverty, and stay out. Your gift today gets a family into a home, fills a child's empty stomach, and helps a parent gain skills to secure stable income. And, we can't thank you enough.
A gift of $300 helps a family accomplish their first goal on the path to stability. Fund their entire goal yourself, or give in any amount and your gift will be paired with others to support a family. Your donation before Aug. 24 can stretch even further by helping us compete to win a $25,000 grant in the Give Twin Cities challenge.
Pathway of Hope families meet with a Salvation Army caseworker once a week to set goals and create a plan for success. Common goals include finding employment, gaining education or skills, budgeting, and getting off “the system.”
Our program provides financial assistance in ways that come alongside each family to amplify their effort and help them acheive their goals. Some examples of ways we help financially include: housing application fees, school books or class fees, clothing for interviews, auto insurance or license renewal for reliable transportation, medical bills, mattresses and bed frames, and much more.
Watch our video (after clicking through the images) to meet some of these changed families.
Pathway of Hope helps families break the cycle of generational poverty and homelessness. The majority of families mentored six months or longer increase their overall stability.
