Sam Lemay's Fiji Film 2016
Organized by: John Pritchard
I am Sam Lemay, the great grandson of Ratu Pita Mira, a chief from Savusavu, Fiji who is known to have travelled all across the island of Vanua Levu many years ago, consulting with each chief about where their land boundaries were so as to make it official in Fijian law. My family in Fiji taught me to respect and cherish the land, its customs and our way of life.
We say “We are the land (vanua), and the land is us.” This is what this Fiji Film is all about:
Fijian tribal wisdom!
I’m creating a film where the wisdom of the Paramount chiefs and indigenous people can be shared with the entire world... wisdom coming all the way from my great grandfather himself and his ancestors. This ancient wisdom will be heard by our children and great grandchildren for generations to come. In addition to educating the world about Fiji, the film will also empower native people all over the planet to share their own tribal wisdom with the modern world.
I need your help to make this film a reality. We are partnering with award winning film director and producer John Pritchard, who has just released his film “One Heart, One Spirit” to the world.
