BENEFITING: SAMADHI LEGACY FOUNDATION INC
Our Big Why...
Out of the 6 to 8 million dogs and cats that entered shelters last year, 3 to 4 million were euthanized. Whether a purebred or mixture of various breeds, we believe that they all deserve a second chance!
We do our best to ensure healthy, adoptable animals by providing a pre-adoption assessment and veterinary care. To the best of our ability, we assess each animal’s temperament and provide as much information as possible regarding the animal’s behavior and personality.
Meet Kathy Benson, Founder
Founder Kathy Benson has dedicated her life to transforming the lives of others, whether they have two legs or four. Since 1989, she has seminars around the world to motivate people, enrich their lives and connect them with their purpose. In 2012, shortly after losing her beloved Boston terrier, Samadhi, to lymphoma, Kathy found herself at a seminar where her life would be transformed and she would find her own purpose. That is where she met a woman named Jodi who would forever change the lives of 200 dogs and counting. After exchanging correspondence about their departed dogs and watching her new friend's social media posts, Kathy, fueled by photos of abused and neglected pit bulls, set out to make a difference. It was then and there that Kathy realized that she was to rescue pit bulls and others deemed "undesirable," one dog at a time, and a new dog hero was born. Birthed in Las Vegas, the Samadhi Legacy Foundation took on Tennyson as its first 4-legged resident. Cut to three years later, and they have now rescued over 200 dogs “on their own.”
Why Samadhi Legacy Foundation...
When Shakespeare penned "though she be but little, she is fierce," he could have been referring to Samadhi.
Over 200 pups could tell you why they think you should donate to the Samadhi Legacy Foundation. There are so many amazing shelters and rescues out there who need your support. What makes Samadhi different is the personalized care that dogs receive with our foundation. Samadhi takes on the most challenging of dogs, those that other rescues simply can't. Most of the dogs taken on by Samadhi come with daunting medical bills and need a tremendous amount of time and attention that bigger facilities just can't support. Kathy and her small crew of K9 superheroes personally care for each dog, ensuring that those dogs that would usually be euthanized at intake are rehabilitated and find their fur-ever home. Your donation is not only tax-deductible, but you can be assured that Samadhi uses every dollar donated directly on the dogs. Samadhi will never be the biggest rescue, but they will work "until every cage is empty."
