From my bio page at the Pembroke Hill School's website:
I have had the opportunity to be a part of the Pembroke Hill community since the fall of 2003. Since that time I have worn many hats and currently serve as a world history teacher, head football coach and community service director, and assistant athletics director.
I am a native of Omaha, Neb., and received my undergraduate degree from William Jewell College in 1996 and my master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1997. I spent the 1998-99 year teaching at the Kyiv International School in Ukraine where I taught fourth grade and took teams to Prague and Cairo for various tournaments.
I returned to Missouri where I taught and coached in Moberly, Missouri before returning to Kansas City in 2001.
I am in this profession specifically to work with young people who may need help in finding their way. Mr. Bob Grant was that person for me. He took the time to visit with me, a lost ninth grader, encouraged me and guided me through some tough times. A letter he wrote to me is framed and hangs on my office wall so I’ll never forget the power of a positive influence.
Professionally, I have always maintained an emphasis in serving the game of football. I have served on the American Football Coaching Association (AFCA) High School Program Committee since 2003, and currently serve as the committee chairman and subsequently on the Board of Trustees as an ex-officio member. I've served on the Missouri Football Coaching Association Board of Directors since 2005, and the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association Board since 2008.
As the director of community service at Pembroke Hill, I have had the opportunity to see our student body from a whole new perspective. The sincerity of social justice and selfless attitudes of many of our students and families have been very inspiring.
