The Miss Fleur de Lis pageant is a fundraising event for the Judy Fund of the Alzheimer's Association. The pageant will be held in the FIU Stadium Club on Wednesday, March 26 at 7pm. The pageant format is slated to be the following, but is subject to change if necessary:
ROUND ONE - INTRODUCTION
All contestants will be brought on stage and introduced (name, hobbies, and affiliation if applicable) at the beginning of the pageant; the attire for this portion will be smart casual. You will also include a video of the previous week and your involvement in “A Week to Remember.” You will then be asked to come up with a future philanthropy event to be done during Sigma Alpha Mu’s Alzheimer’s Week in the fall.
ROUND TWO – MAKE A BROTHER LAUGH
The second round will be “make a brother laugh.” There are no restrictions to how to make the brother laugh. Costumes and videos are acceptable.
ROUND THREE - SCENARIOS
The third round of the pageant will be scenario-based incidents that can and may occur as our Fleur de Lis.
FINAL ROUND - QUESTIONS
The final portion of the 2014 Miss Fleur de Lis pageant will be an 'evening wear' showcase in which contestants should wear a formal gown or dress. During this round questions regarding Alzheimer’s will be asked. We will also ask why you want to be our Miss Fleur de Lis.
An impartial panel of three judges will be selected to ensure fairness will carry out the selection process for the 2014 Miss Fleur de Lis Pageant. The judges scores will advance contestants through first three rounds. The final decision will be a voted on by the members of Sigma Alpha Mu and the judges.
