We've Reached 55% of our Goal...
March 29, 2016
Someone we loved was murdered.
In Rochester, New York and in cities around the country, this isn't unique unfortunately, especially when considering the lives of young, black men. What is always unique though is the person taken away. In our case: Samuel C. Griffin. Please join us in celebrating his life.
A victim of a senseless robbery, Sammy’s physical life ceased December 23, 2010. Those who met him know that his sense of humor and positive attitude cannot be forgotten. Sammy lives in the spirit of those who love him. Now, every year on his birthday, March 5, we can relect on the Samuel C Griffin Memorial Fund and its good works.
Along with noteworthy causes and endeavors throughout Rochester, the proceeds will be shared with two organizations that seek to touch lives in distinct ways: Boys and Girls Club of Rochester, NY, a place where Sammy spent time as a child and continues to be a safe haven for children today, as well as Family and Friends of Murdered Children and Victims of Violence, a Rochester-based organization that aids those suffering a sudden and tragic loss. Whether it's purchasing needed funeral attire, ensuring there is food in the home, or offering moral support for those experiencing crippling grief, FFMCVV is a cornerstone in Rochester.
In the name of the Samuel C. Griffin Memorial Fund, we seek to spread Sammy's kindness and keep his memory not only alive but helping others. Moving forward, Sam's family is creating a Foundation that will support individuals who are striving to reach goals as Sam was when his life was cut short.
Please donate if you are able, Thank You!
