Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Newtown, Connecticut. SHP is led by family members whose loved ones were killed in the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. SHP is focused on preventing violence (gun and other) and victimization BEFORE they happen by educating youth and adults to identify, intervene, and get help for individuals at risk of hurting themselves or others.
SHP developed four innovative Know the Signs programs that have been delivered to more than 2 million youth and adults in over 3,600 middle and high schools across all fifty states, resulting in intervention on multiple school shootings, suicides, and gun threats, as well as hundreds of bullying, self-harm, and additional acts of victimization.
For every $0.97 raised, SHP trains one individual. With the help of its generous and dedicated supporters, SHP will train 6 million youth and adults by 2026. Please help SHP save more lives by giving a gift through the Macy's Shop for a Cause Charity Challenge.
