EVENT DATE: July 24-26
FUNDRAISING DEADLINE: August 26, 2015
Help us have lemonade stands in every state and around the globe.
Our goal is to raise $100,000. Every lemonade stand counts!
Lemonade for Livy is an initiative that raises epilepsy awareness and research funding for the Epilepsy Foundation. The event occurs yearly over the course of the fourth weekend in July. It is an effort that brings people from around the world together to give hope to those with epilepsy and their families that new treatments will be discovered.
10-year-old Olivia Scheinman (Livy) is the inspiration and symbol behind Lemonade for Livy, a movement created by her family’s organization, Livy’s Hope.
We signed up last year to support Lemonade for Livy for our honored hero; our son Connor Silva. Connor was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was five years old; he is now nine. We didn't know anything about epilepsy before and it is critical to get this awareness out to as many people as possible. Epilepsy is the most underfunded disease and it's a condition of the nervous system that effects 2.5 million Americans. More than 180,000 people are diagnosed with epilepsy every year.
It is painful to have ZERO control to help our son when he has seizures. There isn't enough research to fully understand what our children or adults living with epilepsy feel during a seizure but I can tell you first hand that it is painful. Watching the look on Connor's face and seeing his body react is heart wrenching and when he wakes up he has no idea what took place or what a seizure even is; it takes a good 24 hours before he is back to "himself" again.
Our son, Livy and so many others living with Epilepsy need you; any dollar value helps!
Thank you very much!

Your Honored Hero: Join Livy as a hero and build a lemonade stand for someone you know with epilepsy too!
We all have our unique stories and experiences with epilepsy. Collectively, we make up the epilepsy community and family. As a family, we need to work as one to raise awareness and to fund research that will lead to a cure. 65 million people around the world live with epilepsy. That doesn’t include the tens of millions of family members and friends who are also impacted by the disorder. Think of the power we have when we all work toward a common mission.
Honored Hero: Since birth, Livy has been plagued by the damaging effects of epilepsy. She has endured multiple major brain surgeries but the seizures persist. What started as one neighborhood lemonade stand to raise money in honor of Livy is expanding into a global campaign. It continues to grow because of Livy's twin sister Hailey and the special bond the girls share, a mother's love and a father's promise made long ago.
