BENEFITING: American Red Cross
EVENT DATE: Nov 10, 2012
To My Beloved Family, Friends, Acquaintances and Complete Strangers,
We've all felt the wrath of Sandy during the past week. Some of us more intensely than others, but all of us in a way that we'll remember for the rest of our lives. The path of destruction left is unfathomable and has changed the landscape the the entire east coast, particularly at the Jersey Shore which is the place that I've called home for most of my life.
As many of you know, I was scheduled to run in the NYC Marathon last Sunday, however it was (thankfully) cancelled; a decision that I stood behind regardless of the disappointment that came with it. But in an effort to make some sweet lemonade out of lemons, many of my running teammates and I have decided to truck ourselves down to Richmond, VA and go run a darn marathon! BUT this time, we're not only running to put the last 4 months of training to the test, but we're running to raise money and send a big fat F.U. (sorry mom) to Hurricane Sandy.
The New York Harriers (the running team I belong to) are raising funds for the American RedCross and I would greatly appreciate any and all support you feel inspired to give. Every last bit counts and there's no such thing as too little.
So please help me and the Harriers in trying to do our part to dig out the Eastern Seaboard from this mess.
