I am increasingly aware of the factors that have violated the dignity of many. Due to this, I have begun to work toward certain initiatives that will help aid those who have do not have access to resources and aid that will carry them through such troubling times. One of these initiatives is a missions trip to Haiti that I will a part of in March 2014.
Projects for Haiti, Inc. is a 501 (c)3 Nonprofit Organization, as outlined by the IRS. As an organization, they strive to partner with Haitians in order to see sustainable changes in Haiti. My heart, along with many others in my team, have been compelled to action and we have been impacted by the fortitude and resilience of these people amidst their continuous trials. In the past 2 years, Projects for Haiti has taken over 80 University of Florida students and professionals to Haiti to host clinics, seminars, and conferences in support of education and vocational training. The mission trip in March 2014 will include a medical clinic, English classes, and vacation Bible school activities for children. With Christ at our forefront, we aim to equip, empower and support Haitians in the rebuilding of their country.
