Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental disorder, and only 1 in 10 people will recieve treatment for it. In my own experience, I have learned that treatment is extremely expensive and insurance only covers so much of it for so long. As a result, patients in these centers are released before they are ready to claim a full recovery.

I have been in recovery for a little over a year now. I was so fortunate to have the support of my friends and family, and the means to recieve a full treatment at an amazing program. However, for so many, this is not even a possiblity.
