All, I wanted to thank you…

I wanted to thank you all again – I truly have been inspired and humbled by the overwhelming support and encouragement you have provided me as I prepared to run Boston. And the good news, I did it!

With your help, I reached my fundraising goal for Boston Partners in Education, which really made me so very proud since their mission is such an important and worthy one, so thanks!! And with your support, I checked this iconic race off my bucket list – 'rose up and took my shot' as Hamilton would say.

Several of you have asked for some details about the day, so I sent a more verbose narrative of the day separately, and if you are dying to read my ramblings let me know if you didn’t get, otherwise I close with a big thanks!!

Thanks again so very much for your support!

I just wanted to send everyo…
I just wanted to send everyone a quick update as Boston Marathon weekend has arrived.

First and foremost, thank you for your support! Everyone has been very generous in your support of me and Boston Partners in Education, and we are both so very humbled and grateful. And everyone’s kind words of encouragement and support for my passions – running, education, kids and, of course, Hamilton the Musical! J (Note: attached is the other running bib I will be wearing.)

This morning I ran in the BAA 5K which was just fun. I simply ran this race to get in the spirit of Marathon Weekend, and I was not disappointed – while a bit chilly here this morning, it was just that – fun! From here on out, it is just the long wait for Monday to arrive. The excitement in city of Boston is unmistakable, so it was great to get a bit more of that, but now the long wait until 11:30am rolls around Monday.

And the weather for Monday looks good – while it might be in the low 70s during the middle part of the race (in those towns) it looks like we will be running warm to colder from there on out. Boston is expecting the weather to cool to the low/mid 60’s in the afternoon – so perfect for a photo finish. And with mostly sunshine and not a drop of rain in the sky forecasted, I imagine a race to remember.

Thanks again for your support and I will be sure to write one last time after the race!

P.S. The biggest challenge right now is finalizing my soundtrack for the run…Hamilton of course, but that is only a couple hours, and I also want to enjoy the mix of the classic and newest hits! Don’t worry, the volume will be down low, as my #1 priority is to soak in the crowds.

Stuff About Me:

Taking on my first Spartan in order to help support my friends at the Great American Foundation and raise money for the Alliance for Children. Thus, I'm gonna act like a kid while raising money for kids, so that other kids can have a safe, happy and healthy childhood like I did.

And I've decided to add one more race to this cause....

So, on Saturday, July 12th I'll be doing the Urban Raid in Boston. If you want to watch, send me a note and I'll tell you the details:)

And then on Satuday, August 9th I will be doing the Spartan Sprint in Amesbury, MA!
