There's a point in your life when you realize that you have everything you need. I don't need more gadgets or clothes. But, I know that because you care, some of you amazing friends and family have been asking what is on my Christmas List.
There's only one thing: A gift for someone else.
There are a lot of folks in our city who sleep on sidewalks, under highways or in public parks. A lot of folks are going hungry. A lot of folks need rehab. A lot of kids need to experience the joy of Christmas.
The Salvation Army meets people in the moment of greatest need and provides real tangible help. They fill in the gap when people can’t make ends meet.
I have everything I need - but I know you want to get me something meaningful - I'm going to ask you to give enough to provide one thing for someone in need.
$40 can provide:
1 night of shelter, including a shower and a hot meal
1 Christmas Dinner for a family of four
1 night in a residential rehab facility for a parent struggling with addiction
1 set of Christmas presents for a child
I appreciate the time you've taken to read this. I hope you'll give to this fundraiser. It will mean the world to me — and it will mean the world to someone who needs help this Christmas.
