Save my Moms home
Organized by: Terri Jones
This is the hardest thing I've had to do; asking for help. My mother is a victim of abuse and violence and abandonment. She was abandoned by her husband whom kept the mail and bills locked up and hid 3/4 of the equity an made it all disappear. She had to find out from the bank 2 days ago that she has 4 days till they foreclose on her home. If the home is listed it can't be foreclosed upon but her husband is unwilling to sign his name on the listing meaning he cares not to sell and split their debts he wishes to allow the home to be taken. This means she will be homeless and evicted from her home in half a week. If we would have known what he was up to I could have moved in an made these payments slowly disappear but there is no time or notice for me to even me to be able to sell anything. The economy is so bad no one is buying much so I am unable to sell anything in this short of time to cover this payment and her husband kept the older style mail box locked up with a massive lock no bolt cutter could cut so she was not ever allowed to see the mail or her bills for 6 years. If I would have known I would have brought my zip cut n generator down years ago. That's the problem with abuse, the victim thinks it's okay so they don't stick up for themselves. This may be my only hope for helping her in such a short timeframe. Many are going through tough times an many are starting over. If we are Alberta strong then it wouldn't take much from a few of you an it adds up. The stress caused a heart attack for my mom and she has been unable to work so this weight is on my tiny shoulders to try and help her. Watching her get sick from the stress the last two days is truly overwhelming. I'm terrified if I can't get the money to the bank in time that she will have another and I don't want to lose my mom. I just had to watch both my cousins suffer finding their mom (an my Auntie) whom had passed and it's my worst fear! Losing her to stress and depression and health issues so I am begging the public to open their hearts this week wether they know me or not, wether they live in the same country, if you are in the position to help even a tiny bit to please consider my charity today. Today has nothing to do with pride it's saving my moms home so it can be sold versus losing everything in just a few short days. She has nothing to start over with and has no means to just be forced to walk away from a life's work and savings and property. I'm not sure what anyone else would be able to do if they were given 4 days out of the blue to save their home when all of Alberta is broke but I'm praying there's sowething that I can do and something all of you can do to help.
