Dave and I saw Charlie get hit by a car while we were out walking our dogs. I ran out into the road, stopped traffic and scopped him up. It was late so we took him to an urgent care facility. They put him on pain medicine and kept him comfortable while they contacted his owners through his microchip. The hospital said he has a broken leg, a possible bladder tear and maybe other internal injuries. After hearing the cost estimate his owners relinquished ownership. Dave and I then turned him over to the East Valley Animal Shleter. He is there resting comfortably now (on pain medicine and antibotics) but needs medical attention soon to fix his injuries.
He is up for adoption but the hopsital esitmated his medical costs around $4000 which is a lot for a potential new family. We are hoping to raise enough money to get him the care he needs so he can get adopted. He is a very sweet boy and we have no doubt he'll get adopted right away once he is all fixed up.
Charlie is a neutered male, red Tibetan Spaniel mix. The shelter thinks he is about 1 year and 6 months old and is 14 pounds. He is super sweet and deserves a second chance. I know $3000 is lot but if everyone can contribute a little bit it will make a big difference. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you in advance for your contribution.
