THE STORY:

Aziz Ahmad is a 60-year old man respected and beloved across Afghanistan as he has spent his life helping thousands of families, including men, women and their children in the pursuit of education, real homes and legitimate livelihoods. In 2003, he contributed to Afghan's new Constitution that included close attention to the rights of women. He is responsible for the opening Ruken High School for girls located in Ruken, a village close to Farah City. He also raised funds to build a whole new irrigation system in Farah that allowed for the rebuilding of three large water canals that now serves over 40,000 people.

In 1999, Aziz was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and has been living on medications that have helped until now. He is currently receiving a Deep Brain Stimulation operation that will hopefully help him get better so he can return to his humanitarian works. Unfortunately, it costs $40,000. If he would have come to the states, it would have cost upwards of $135,000. We are asking for donations of $50,000 to cover the costs of his operation, travel, and ongoing expenses to surely follow.
